SummaryUnder the direction of the Consumer Lending Manager, the Senior Consumer Loan Specialist is responsible for a variety of duties related to all consumer loan processing administrative functions, DMV functions, as well as support functions related to a variety of member and dealership loans. Duties include but are not limited to data entry, filing, document preparation, auditing, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance. Works directly with members to develop, expand, and maintain positive consumer lending relationships. Provides prompt, efficient, and accurate support to members, dealers and co-workers.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.Back up to Funding Team by working closely with Lending Specialists and Relationship Specialists on loan fulfillment, including sending and receiving loan documents when needed.

• Provides feedback on the Direct funding process and procedures to help increase efficiencies for Department.
• Verifies information with members when required.
• Provides quality control for all loans prior to funding. Reviews all applications for regulatory compliance and conformance.
• Manages all aspects of approved employee loans including the maintenance of loan records, documents, and files.
• Assists management with the quality control, tracking and archiving of new account signature cards and updated questionnaires for Indirect Loans.
• Prepares and provides reports to management on the daily, weekly, and monthly progression of Consumer Loans’ performance to budget analysis.
• Prepares Indirect letters and new member packages.
• Balances, tracks, and prepares billing and reports for general ledgers to include Loan Protection, Guaranteed Asset Protection and Major Mechanical Protection.
• Analyze errors on Loan Protection, Guaranteed Asset Protection and Major Mechanical Protection.
• Mentor/Trainer for Centralized Funders.
• Manages the daily tracking and distribution of all Indirect loans.
• Processes all adjustments and changes on all consumer loans.
• Assists in training and directing branch employees when necessary.
• Calculates payoffs on vehicle loans for dealerships while ensuring member loan retention.
• Explains reasons for denial, approval, and explanation of loan stipulations.
• Computes payment calculation verifying interest and principle calculations.
• Understands how to calculate complex verifications of pay stubs/wages.
• Understands LoansPQ and its application process.
• Understands Origence and its application process.
• Understands SalesForce and its processing functions.
• Prepares and maintains a variety of loan records, documents, and files.
• Assists members in understanding how their payments are posted to their accounts.
• Responds and resolves dealership and member problems and requests, when necessary, and assists with completion of forms and documents for loan changes and adjustments.
• Performs within the lending limits approved by the Board of Directors.
• Runs Kelley Blue Book®, AutoCheck®, computerized vehicle registrations and ChexSystems reports.
• Works cooperatively with members, dealers, and fellow employees.
• Understands and remains current on LOANLINER® documents and resources.
• Serves as back-up to Senior DMV Specialist duties, Consumer Loan Funding Manager duties and Senior Consumer Loan Administrator duties as needed.
• Maintains, processes and monitors GAP Cancellations through LCT/SalesForce vendor.
• Responsible for keeping Credit Union up to date on current regulation requirements around GAP Cancellations.

QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge. skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this position.Education And ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge and understanding of consumer lending procedures, practices and policies and credit fundamentals as would normally be acquired through five years’ experience in branch operations and/or loans.

KnowledgeExperience with Symitar® and Loans PQ®.

CA DMV policies and procedures.

Advanced skills in Excel and Word.

Other Skills And AbilitiesOperates a variety of office equipment and machines.

Ability to travel, attend, and participate in meetings, seminars, and conferences held before and after normal business hours that may require unaccompanied long-distance travel and overnight lodging.
